My infatuation with airplanes and travel started when I was very young…..
I still remember when I was a little boy, I had toy airplanes and I would pretend I owned my own airport. I would park the airplanes at the gate, service them and then depart them onto their journey. Some of my favorite toy airplanes were an Air France Concorde and TWA Boeing 777.
I never really went on any exotic travels when I was young. The most exotic travel consisted of going to Mexico over the summer. We would sometimes even take the 4 day journey by driving instead of flying. But my favorite of course was when we would fly there. I always wanted the window seat and I still do to this day so I can enjoy some plane spotting.
I had the opportunity to work at an airline for a short time and I took my first true international trip to London and it was in Business Class and First Class coming back. The joys of working for an airline! I was a college student so I stayed for 22 hours in London, slept in the park and airport, and flew back home the next morning in First Class. I was hooked!
I never really started getting into credit cards and points because I had travel passes with the airline. I mostly had a credit card that I used to buy gift cards. Such a terrible redemption! My first credit card that I got geared toward points was the Hilton American Express.
After I left the airline industry (it was really hard) I realized my travel passes were gone! No more flying business and first class. Back to coach. I was really spoiled and I couldn’t see myself flying coach on long distance flights. I was determined to find a way to fly first and business class without paying a ridiculous amount of money.
I then stumbled across blogs and websites that showed you how to fly first and business class by using credit card points. I immediately then started looking for the best credit card to use. I ended up getting the British Airways Visa credit card with the 100,000 Avios bonus. My wife got the same credit card and we put all of our wedding expenses on the card. We were able to fly British Airways business class on two trips to Europe.
I have then since flown only on American Airlines business class but I’m planning my trip around the world in Summer of 2017 which is going to epic. I will be flying the Etihad Apartment, Singapore Suites, ANA Business class and Japan Airlines First class! All of this on points. Please follow and stay tuned as I will show you how I was able to book all of this. I will also will be posting video reviews of my experiences on these flights on YouTube.
